A visit to the Acropolis is incomplete without experiencing its magnificent modern museum. Designed by renowned architect Bernard Tschumi and opened in 2009, the museum sits just 300 meters from the archaeological site, offering a seamless narrative of the sacred rock.
Bathed in natural Athenian light, the museum houses over 4,000 artifacts excavated from the Acropolis slopes. The spectacular top-floor Parthenon Gallery matches the exact dimensions and orientation of the ancient temple, displaying the surviving friezes alongside plaster casts of those held abroad.
